“We are so pleased with our wedding and engagement photos. Not only was the finished product wonderful, but the entire process was a great experience. Kaylan did an excellent job of capturing the spirit of our wedding day and capturing moments that will enable us to recall the emotion and excitement of this day for years to come. We are so happy that we chose Kaylan as our photographer for this once-in-a-lifetime event!” —Megan, teacher

“What an impressive experience working with Kaylan Buteyn has been. Kaylan and I had never met in person before she traveled to San Antonio to photograph my family of six — but I knew about her talent, having seen her portraiture and some personal work online, and having an art professor friend give her glowing reviews as well — so I knew we were in good hands. From the moment we met up, she made an immediate connection with our four kids, setting them at ease, which really made the process enjoyable. And she was prepared: Kaylan had arrived in town earlier in the day and had already spent the morning scouting multiple locations on her own time, so we were able to start shooting pretty much immediately (all natural-light photography in and around San Antonio). After the shoot wrapped, we treated her to some great local Mexican food and kicked back and had a great time talking. But it was later, when we received the edited gallery of shots, that we were most impressed: we were able to see Kaylan’s artistry — great color and composition, wonderful outtakes, spur-of-the-moment shots, surprises, and her natural ability to capture each of our family members’ wonderful, unique quirks. I understand Kaylan is relocating back to New York. Well, we’ll just have to figure out how to lure her back to Texas in years to come. She has our kudos for a great photo shoot and a great afternoon spent, one we’ll remember whenever we get compliments on the portrait in our living room.”      —Paul Soupiset, graphic designer

“Kaylan is driven by an insatiable hunger to connect with and touch the people and the world around her. She is driven by the stories of others and the stories that lie inside of her. She is a genuinely curious person who is not satisfied with the easy answers or merely the surface of things. She has the kind of curiosity that a simple hello can not satisfy—she desires for deeper connections and conversations to blossom.”  — Andrew, documentary photographer
