::four MONTHS::

My happy boy. This was a big month of change for you! Your personality is really starting to shine through and we are loving getting to know our sweet little boy. You’re snuggly and affectionate, curious and alert, expressive and content. As long as you’ve been fed, napped, and mommy is close-by you can pretty much handle any situation that comes your way…and you’ve been gracious and patient with me this month as I’ve shifted your routine around. You’re smiling lots now and are on the verge of giggling. Those smiles are contagious and you save the best ones for me and Daddy (which of course we love). One day a few weeks ago I put you down on your tummy in your crib for a nap and when I came back a few minutes later you had surprised me by flipping over onto your back! You’ve also started talking out loud to yourself this month when no one is around. Sometimes I sit at the bottom of the stairs and listen to you babble away in your crib after you’ve woken up from a nap before I go up and get you. It’s fun to watch and listen to you discover your voice. You’re almost ready to sit up entirely on your own in the bumbo chair right now… you still slip around a little bit and can’t last for very long but you’re getting there. You’ve even started sleeping all by yourself in your big crib. It’s only been a few times that you’ve lasted through the night before we bring you back into our room but I’ve missed you each time and secretly hope that you don’t stay asleep all night. You grow a little bit more every day and to me, you become more beautiful, strong, and unique.

Thank you for being sweet. Thank you for being healthy. Thank you for being mine.

I love you, Fin man.
